MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEAT UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES
Orangeburg, NY (1/29/11) The Dominican College men's basketball team won their sixth straight game after defeating the visiting Devils of the University of the Sciences, 69-56, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

The Chargers trailed 10-6 with just over 14 minutes left in the first half when they went on an 22-6 tear to take a 28-16 lead with 4:01 to go and they went into the intermission with a 31-22 lead.
Dominican extended their lead to 16 points (60-44) with 7:39 and a three point basket from freshman Justin Turner (Trumbull, CT) gave Dominican a 69-51 lead with a minute and half left in regulation. The Devils closed out the game with the last five points for the final 69-56 Charger victory.
Sophomore guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) led three Chargers in double figures with a game lead 17 points and six assists to go along with five rebounds.
Senior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) tallied 12 points, nine caroms and a game leading four blocks, while Gerald Hill (Gwynn Oak, MD) netted 11 points off the bench in the victory.
With the victory Dominican improves to 12-8 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
DC returns to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Felician College in a CACC North Division contest. Tip-off is slated for 8pm.
