DOMINICAN OPENS HOLIDAY HOOPS CLASSIC AGAINST #7 LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
Las Vegas, NV (12/20/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team opened their weekend trip to Las Vegas, NV for the Holiday Hoops Classic against #7 in the NABC Lubbock Christian Chaparrals from the South Point Arena.
The Chargers fell to the Chaps by a score of 85-65 to bring their overall record to 6-4 on the season. The Chaps improve to 11-2 overall after the win.
The first half was a back and forth battle as the Chargers held a slim lead with less than ten minutes to play before halftime.
The Chaps took the lead and went on a 20-9 run to finish the first half. A tip-in by Isaiah Honis at the buzzer cut the deficit to 47-40 by halftime.
Lubbock Christian opened the first on an 11-3 run to extend to a double digit lead over the Chargers and continued to their largest lead of the game as they closed out the win.
Chance Morrish finished the game with a team-high 15 points which included going 8-10 from the charity stripe. Honis added 13 points while also bringing in four boards and dished out a team-high three assists.
Reginald Dillard scored eight points while Tyler Edore added nine points and shared the team lead in boards with seven. Koi D. Kirk, Jr. also finished with seven boards.
The Chargers play the second game of the Holiday Hoops Classic tomorrow night against Montana State-Billings at 11:15 PM EST.
