Brookhaven, NY (4/16/11) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to # 4 Dowling College, 14-7, this afternoon in an East Coast Conference (ECC) game played this afternoon. With the win Dowling improves to 9-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while Dominican falls to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in the ECC.

Junior attacker Korin Pierce (Middleburg, VA) led the Chargers with three goals and one assist for four points.
Senior Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB, Canada) netted two goals, while goalie Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made 17 saves in the loss.
Dominican scored the first two goals of the contest for an early 2-0 lead as Jones and Pierce each netted unassisted goals.
Dowling closed out the first period with a 2-0 run to tie the game at 2-2. The Lions continued on their run with the second period's first goal to take a 3-2 edge. Pierce tied the game at 3-3 with his second on unassisted goal of the half with 12:10 to go before halftime.
The Golden Lions closed out the second period with three goals and added three more in the third period to go ahead 9-3. Dominican scored their first goal of the second half with 2:36 to play as Jones netted his 27th goal of the season. Senior attacker Andrew Rendine (River Edge, NJ) netted a goal with 0:07 seconds left in the period to make the score 9-5.
Dowling started off the fourth period scoring with a 4-0 run to rebuild a 13-5 lead. Pierce netted his fourth goal of the game with 9:38 to play, but just over a minute later Dowling regained an eight goal lead (14-6) lead.
Sophomore attacker Connor Lawlor (Neptune City, NJ) netted the game's final goal with 5:467 to play for the final 14-7 Dowling victory.
