CHARGERS END SEASON WITH LOSS TO ROBERTS WESLEYAN COLLEGE
Rochester, N.Y. (5/4/13) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team ended the 2013 season with a 16-5 loss to host, Roberts Wesleyan College, this afternoon in an East Coast Conference (ECC) game. With the loss, the Chargers end the season with an overall record of 0-12 and an 0-7 mark in the ECC.

Freshman attacker Jusstin Ruffin (Amityville, N.Y.) tied the game at 1-1 with 6:17 remaining in the first quarter off the pass of Joseph Ravenell (Copiague, N.Y.). RWC regained the lead with 2:45 left in the quarter for a 2-1 lead.
Midfielder Thomas Dertinger (Nanuet, N.Y.) netted the Charger's lone goal of the second quarter and his 19th of the season with 8:25 to go before the break after the pass from Maxwell Odynski (Northport, N.Y.) to make the score 3-2. The Redhawks scored two more goals before the break for a 5-2 advantage.
Senior midfielder Daniel Steigert (Copiague, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the third quarter with his sixth goal of the season on a man-up opportunity and Sean McGregor (Bloominburg, N.Y.) followed about four minutes later with a goal to cut the deficit to 5-4.
From there RWC went on an 11-0 run to take a 16-4 lead. Freshman attacker Joseph Ravenell (Copiague, N.Y.) closed out the game with his 20th goal of the year for the final 16-5 score.
Goalie Matthew Quinones (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 15 saves in the loss.
