Farmingdale, N.Y. (4/10/16) The Farmingdale State Rams defeated the Dominican College men's lacrosse team 14-4 this afternoon in a non-conference action.
The Rams opened the game with two straight scores, before sophomore midfielder Chris Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) got the Chargers on the scoreboard with a goal off the pass from Kevin Mayer (Wantagh, N.Y.) with 1:47 left in the first quarter.
Farmingdale (9-1) began the second quarter with a goal, but senior Conor Reeves* (Tappan, N.Y.) made the score 3-2 with his first game goal following the pass from David Arent (Huntington Beach, Calif.). The Rams closed out the quarter with three more goals for a 6-2 lead at halftime.
The Rams continued on the run with four goals in the third quarter and one in the final frame to increase their lead to 11-2 with 12:33 to play.
Arent broke the run with 4:19 to go with an unassisted goal, but the Rams added two more goals to extend the lead to 13-3. Arent followed with his second game goal on a man-up opportunity on a pass from Mayer with 1:36 on the clock and the Rams ended the game with a goal for the final 14-4 score.
Arent finished the game with two goals and one assist.
Dominican goalie Joseph Fabiilli (Glen Head, N.Y.) made 10 saves in 48:57. Carlos Villaman (Montgomery, N.Y.) had one save in the remaining 11:03 in the net.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-9 on the season.
