#7 NYIT BEARS TURN BACK MEN'S LACROSSE
Hillburn, N.Y. (4/25/16) The #7 New York Institute of Technology Bears turned back the Dominican College men's lacrosse team, 21-6, this afternoon in an East Coast Conference (ECC) game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Sophomore Chris Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) gave Dominican the early 1-0 lead with a goal off the assist from freshman David Arent (Huntington Beach, Calif.) just one minute and 22 seconds into the contest. The Bears ended the quarter on a 5-0 run for a 5-1 advantage.
NYIT continued on their run with the first four goals of the second quarter, but Arent broke the run on a man-up opportunity to make the score 9-2 with 4:33 to play before the break. Following two more Bear scores, midfielder Kevin Mayer (Wantagh, N.Y.) netted the unassisted goal with 1:00 minute on the clock. The Bears closed out the half with two more goals for the 13-3 lead.
DC tallied back-to-back goals in the third quarter as Cristopher Polanco (White Plains, N.Y.) and Aaron Yulfo (Shirley, N.Y.) netted their first goals of the game with Heegan assisting on Yulfo's score.
Polanco closed out the game with the final goal with 53 ticks to go for the final 21-6 score.
Polanco finished with two goals, while Heegan finsihed with one goal and one assist.
Starting goalie Joseph Fabiilli (Glen Head, N.Y.) made 16 saves in 30 minutes of action.
Carlos Villaman (Montgomery, N.Y.) had three saves in 18:41, while Matthew Sandelier (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) made two saves in the final 11:19.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 3-11 overall and 1-6 in ECC play.
