CHARGERS DROP SEASON OPENER TO MERCY COLLEGE

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (3/5/21) The Dominican College Men’s Lacrosse team dropped their 2021 season opener to Mercy College by a score of 19-6.

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (3/5/21) The Dominican College Men's Lacrosse team dropped their 2021 season opener to Mercy College by a score of 19-6.

The Chargers fall to 0-1 on the season and Mercy College improves to 1-0 after the win.

Jack Gibbons and Brady Kearnan each scored three goals and recorded two assists. Tommy McPartland and Dominic Scorcia each scored two goals. McPartland added one assist while Scorcia added four assists.

For the Chargers, Luke Martini (Abington, Mass.) led the way with three goals and took 13 shots. Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) finished with one goal and one assist. Connor Holland (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) also added one goal and one assist while Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scored one goal.  

Mercy College scored the first six goals of the game in the opening quarter for a 6-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, DC got on the board with two goals, but Mercy College extended the lead to 9-2 by halftime.

Mercy College opened the third quarter with five straight goals to take a 15-2 lead. DC ended the run with a goal late in the quarter.

Luke Martini scored three goals in the fourth quarter for DC. Mercy College added four more goals in the fourth quarter on their way to the 19-6 win.

The Chargers will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 20th when they visit Felician University at 7:00 P.M.
