Hillburn, N.Y. (4/24/21) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team dropped a conference game to Chestnut Hill College by a score of 22-11.
The Chargers fall to 1-3 (0-1 CACC) and the Griffins improve to 7-2 (4-0 CACC) on the season.
Carson Rees led the way for Chestnut Hill with a team-high six goals. Scott Wilden and Jackson Melnick each scored three goals.
Nate Matthews, Mike Smith, and Ben Revak each scored two goals. Zach Schultz, Dan Grubb, Jack Clyne, and Cade Johnson all added one goal.
Jake Miller recorded the win in goal for the Griffins to improve his record to 7-2 on the season.
For the Chargers, Luke Martini (Abington, Mass) led the way with three goals and took a team-high 13 shots. Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.), Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), and Cole Vencack (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored two goals each.
Connor Holland (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) added one goal each.
The Griffins got off to a fast start in the opening quarter and led 6-1 heading into the second quarter. The Griffins used another strong quarter to extend the lead to 14-3 by halftime.
DC scored a total of eight goals in the second half, but the Griffins added five goals in the third quarter and three in the fourth on their way to the 22-11 win.
The Chargers will be back in action on Tuesday, April 27th when they travel to Post University for a conference game at 3:00 PM.
