CHARGERS EARN FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OF THE SEASON OVER POST UNIVERSITY
Waterbury, Conn. (4/27/21) The Dominican College men’s lacrosse team earned their first conference win of the season after defeating Post University by a score of 18-13.
Waterbury, Conn. (4/27/21) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team earned their first conference win of the season after defeating Post University by a score of 18-13.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 2-3 (1-1 CACC) on the season and the Eagles fall to 0-6 (0-5 CACC).
Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the way for the Chargers with six goals and three assists. Connor Holland (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and Luke Martini (Abington, Mass) added four goals. Holland also added two assists while Martini took a team-high 14 shots.
Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) finished with two goals and four assists. Cole Vencack (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored two goals and recorded one assist. William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) added a team-high five assists.
Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) and Steffen Peabody (Brookhaven, N.Y.) split time in net for the Chargers. Gifford made 15 saves while Peabody recorded four saves.
For Post, Nick Meier scored four goals and added two assists. Dylan Heald scored three goals. Jake Bova and Carlos Chacua scored two goals each. Brendan Kelleher and Quran Langston each added one goal.
DC scored the first two goals of the game and the Eagles answered with four straight goals to end the first quarter.
Each team scored four goals in the second quarter and the Eagles held an 8-6 lead at halftime.
The Chargers had a big third quarter and outscored the Eagles 7-1 to take a 13-9 lead into the fourth quarter. DC finished the game with five goals in the fourth quarter on their way to the 18-13 win.
The Chargers will be back in action when they return home to host the Cougars of Caldwell University on Thursday, April 29th at 3:00 PM.
