CHARGERS EDGED IN OVERTIME BY CALDWELL UNIVERSITY

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/29/21) The Dominican College men’s lacrosse team were edged by the Cougars of Caldwell University in overtime by a score of 14-13.

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/29/21) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team was edged by the Cougars of Caldwell University in overtime by a score of 14-13.

The Chargers fall to 2-4 (1-2 CACC) on the season and the Cougars improve to 5-4 (3-2 CACC).

Luke Martini (Abington, Mass) led the way with four goals and added one assist. Martini took a team-high 13 shots. Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) added three goals, five assists, and took 11 shots.

Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) and Cole Vencack (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored two goals each. Pierce recorded two assists while Vencack added one assist. William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) and Joseph DeRosa (Jackson, N.J.) added one goal each.

Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) suffered the loss in net but made 14 saves to help keep the team in the game.

For the Cougars, Kevin Albright scored six goals to lead the team and took 12 shots which were also a team-high. Chris snow scored three goals and recorded six assists. Michael Brown added two goals and one assist.

Jason Staudte, Jayden Paladino, and Gage Herzog all added one goal each.

The Chargers held a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. The Cougars used a five-goal second quarter to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.

The Cougars added four goals in the third quarter and the Chargers added three goals. DC scored five goals in the fourth quarter and held the lead late.

Kevin Albright scored with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime. Kevin Albright would eventually score the game-winner in overtime to help lift the Cougars over the Chargers 14-13.

The Chargers will look to bounce back on Saturday, May 1st when they host Georgian Court University at 7:00 PM.
