MEN'S LACROSSE OPENS CONFERENCE PLAY WITH LOSS TO GRIFFINS
Lafayette, Pa. (3/14/26) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team opened CACC play with a 14-5 loss to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College this afternoon.
After the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the CACC while the Griffins improve to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Starting goalkeeper for DU Nicholas Creisher made 13 saves but suffered the loss. CHC goalkeeper Adam Daley made nine saves and picked up the win.
The Chargers got on the board first with a goal by Chad Keyser just over two minutes into the game. The Griffins answered by going on a 6-1 run to end the first quarter.
Two goals by Chestnut Hill's Jake Ballerini and Keyser's second goal of the game came in the second quarter and the Griffins held an 8-3 lead at halftime.
The Griffins shutout the Chargers 3-0 in the third quarter and then outscored DU 3-2 in the fourth quarter on their way to the 14-5 victory.
Keyser finished with two goals which were both assisted by Nickolas Paletta. Steven Dupras, David Walter, and Zachary Souza each scored one goal.
Sean Cosgrove added one assist while picking up a team-high five groundballs. Michael Aufiero and Joseph DeGregorio each caused two turnovers. Aufiero also added three groundballs.
Anthony Roumeliotis won nine faceoffs and picked up two groundballs.
The Chargers return home on Tuesday when they host St. Michael's College for a non-conference match up on O'Brien Field at 1:00 PM.
