Caldwell, N.J. (4/2/26) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team picked up their first conference win of the season as they upended the Cougars of Caldwell University this afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the CACC while the Cougars fall to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in conference.
Dominican opened the game with a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter and followed up with an 8-0 run in the second quarter for a 12-2 lead at halftime.
DU scored two goals to continue their scoring streak to 12 and later took a 17-6 lead into the fourth quarter. Domincian added two goals in the fourth quarter on their way to the 19-9 win.
Chad Keyser and Zachary Souza combined for eight goals with four each. Steven Dupras scored three goals while Ian McDow and Julian Rodriguez each netted two goals.
Nickolas Paletta, Sean Cosgrove, and Jakob Jason each scored once. Jason dished out three assists.
Evan Dupras led the team in assists with eight which is a career high.
Nicholas Creisher picked up the win in net and made seven saves. Bryce Layton also saw time in net and made three saves.
The Chargers return to action on the road next Wednesday when they visit Southern New Hampshire University.
