#13 MEN'S SOCCER EXTEND WINNING STREAK WITH VICTORY OVER CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE
Philadelphia, PA (10/3/09) The Dominican College men' s soccer team, currently ranked 13th nationally in the latest NSCAA/Adidas Poll, extended their winning streak to five games after defeating Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Chestnut Hill College, 4-1 this afternoon.
Philadelphia, PA (10/3/09) The Dominican College men's soccer team, currently ranked 13th nationally in the latest NSCAA/Adidas Poll, extended their winning streak to five games after defeating Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Chestnut Hill College, 4-1 this afternoon.
Senior forward Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) scored his first of two goals at 33:56 off the assist from freshman Alex Rodier (Williamstown, NJ). Wright repaid the favor seven minutes later as he assisted, along with goalie Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) on a Rodier goal to give Dominican a 2-0 lead.
Following a goal by Chestnut Hill College, Wright netted his second goal of the game and team leading 14th of the season at 83:31 off the dish by senior James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland).
Hamilton netted the game's final goal in the 85th minute on a 2 and 1 break with Rodier as Dominican won the game 4-1.
The Chargers controlled the offensive end of the game, outshooting the Griffins, 31-10 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Heembrock made six saves in the win.
With the victory Dominican improves to 9-0-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the CACC.
DC is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to CACC opponent, Felician College for a 7pm game.
