POST UNIVERSITY SNAPS #10 MEN'S SOCCER WINNING STREAK
Orangeburg, NY (10/14/09) The visiting Eagles of Post University snapped the Dominican College men's soccer team, currently ranked 10th in the nation by the NSCAA, seven game winning streak after defeating them 2-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the DC Soccer Field.
Orangeburg, NY (10/14/09) The visiting Eagles of Post University snapped the Dominican College men's soccer team, currently ranked 10th in the nation by the NSCAA, seven game winning streak after defeating them 2-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the DC Soccer Field.
The Eagles got on the board in the 42nd minute of action as freshman Eltany Morias (Cape Verde, Islands) netted a goal off the dish from senior Johan Pineda (Lima, Peru).
Post's second goal came off the foot of Pineda at 57:36 on an indirect kick.
The Chargers outshot the Eagles 12-9 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Eagle keeper Errol Reid (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) made five saves in the win.
Charger keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) had five saves.
With the win the Eagles improve to 4-7-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 11-1-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Wilmington University, currently 23rd in the NSCAA/Adidas National Poll, for a 2pm CACC contest.
