# 3 CHARGERS SOCCER ADVANCE TO CACC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SHOOTOUT
Lakewood, NJ (11/4/10) The third-seeded Chargers of Dominican College advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Tournament Championship as they won 3-2 in penalty kicks over the second-seeded Rams of Philadelphia University this afternoon in CACC Semi-Final action played at Georgian Court University. This was the second shootout for the Chargers in their last two game played.

Lakewood, NJ (11/4/10) The third-seeded Chargers of Dominican College advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Tournament Championship as they won 3-2 in penalty kicks over the second-seeded Rams of Philadelphia University this afternoon in CACC Semi-Final action played at Georgian Court University. This was the second shootout for the Chargers in their last two game played.
Dominican (12-3-4) took a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute of action sophomore midfielder Pedro Franklin De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) headed a goal past the Ram keeper off the corner kicker from junior Alan Heavey (Huntington Station, NY).
The Rams tied the contest in the 83rd minute to force overtime.
After two scoreless overtime periods, the game went into a shootout.
Sophomore Alex Rodier (Williamstown, NJ) was the first player to take a penalty kick and he put it in the left corner of the goal for the Chargers.
CACC Rookie of the Year, Sony Narro (Stamford, CT), converted his kick to put DC one pk away from the championship.
After five players from both teams had taken shots, the shootout stood at 2-2 and senior James Flaherty (London, England) took the sixth kick for the Chargers and put it in the top left corner of the net for the game winning pk.
Charger keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) made eight saves during regulation and saved four of the six penalty kick attempts.
Dominican advances to the CACC Championship where they will take on top-seeded Bloomfield College on Saturday at 1:30 pm at Georgian Court University.
