2021-22 Dominican University Men’s Tennis Summary
The Chargers had an overall record of 5-7 and a 3-5 record in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The five wins was a program record for the three-year program.
The Chargers finished in a tie for third place in the conference and lost the tie-breaker to miss a playoff berth under first-year head coach, Da’Tekena Barango-Tariah. The team also won the CACC Men’s Tennis Sportsmanship Award for the first time in program history.
Guilherme Salim led the team with eight wins in first singles. For his efforts, he was named to the All-CACC First Team, earned two CACC Player of the Week honors and was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll once this season.
Marcos Lee went 7-5 in singles, while Anthony Kwok posted a 6-5 record in singles. Lee was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll once.
The first doubles team of Kwok and Lee sported a 6-6 record.
Salim and Skylar Ross were all named to the CACC All-Academic Team for the second time, while Qalib Bahadurali Ladhani made his first appearance on the team.
Salim and Ross were also inducted into the Dominican University New York Sigma Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
