CHARGERS SPLIT OPENING WEEKEND HOME AND HOME SET WITH WARRIORS
North Andover, Mass. (1/10/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team wrapped up their home and home set on opening weekend with Merrimack College with a 3-1 loss to the Warriors.
Dominican won the opening set, but the Warriors rallied to win three straight sets for the 3-1 match victory.
The Chargers now stand at 1-1 overall after opening weekend.
Dominican started the match off where they left off Friday night with a back and forth opening set victory.
Both teams continued to battle in the second set as Merrimack tied the match with a 25-22 victory in the second set.
The Warriors continued to rally with wins in the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 25-17 to secure the match 3-1.
Junior Phinehas Wiley finished with a match high 24 kills and 26.0 points scored. Junior Ayden Shaw picked up 13 kills while redshirt freshman Seth Terry recorded a team-high 41 assists. Wiley, Shaw, and Terry each picked up 10 digs.
Junior Tommaso Falchi added six kills, four digs, and two total blocks. Senior Alejandro Miranda added eight digs while redshirt sophomore Carsen Gore picked up three kills and six digs.
The Chargers return home next Thursday when they host LIU on Coach Baxter Court at 6:00 PM.
