WARRIORS RALLY PAST CHARGERS IN FIVE SETS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/27/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in five sets to the Warriors of Merrimack College in non-conference action on Coach Baxter Court.
Dominican falls to 5-16 on the season while Merrimack improves to 9-10.
The Warriors win the season series 2-1 over the Chargers after falling to DU on opening night and then winning the next two match ups.
Dominican jumped out to a 2-0 match lead after taking the opening set 25-23 and 25-21 in the second.
The Warriors bounced back in the third with a 25-16 win to extend the match and forced the decisive fifth set with a 25-17 win in the fourth.
In the fifth set, the score was tied at 8-8 and the Warriors completed the comeback after finishing off the fifth set on a 7-3 run.
For the Chargers, Tommaso Falchi recorded a team-high 15 kills while picking up five digs and three block assists. Phinehas Wiley finished with 13 kills while Ayden Shaw added nine kills and six digs.
Setter Jaiden Wilcox picked up a team-high 44 assists and added nine digs. Alejandro Miranda led the way in digs with 14. Hunter Paio added a team-high four total blocks.
The Chargers return to conference play on Sunday when they visit rival St. Thomas Aquinas College.
