SOFTBALL LOSES TWO AT GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY INVITATIONAL
Lakewood, NJ (4/5/09) The Lady Charger softball squad lost two games this afternoon at the 2nd Annual Georgian Court University Invitational "Going to Bat For Breast Cancer". Dowlng College defeated DC, 12-2 in six innings, while the University of Bridgeport turned back Dominican 8-0 in six innings.

Dowlng College defeated DC, 12-2 in six innings, while the University of Bridgeport turned back Dominican 8-0 in six innings.
The Lions scored runs in the third-sixth innings en route to the 12-2 victory. Dominican's two runs came in the sixth inning as senior Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) had an RBI double to right center and Lauren Galladay (Aberdeen, NJ) had an RBI single to centerfield.
Danielle Garrison (Coatesville, PA) took the loss in 5 1/3 innings of work, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits.
In game two, UB held a 5-0 lead after two innings and added runs in the fourth and sixth to cruise to the 8-0 victory.
Dominican was held to just four hits in the game with two coming off the bat of freshman outfielder Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ).
Freshman Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 14 hits.
With the losses DC falls to 19-10 overall.
