TOP SEEDED LADY CHARGERS SOFTBALL FALL TO #6 PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY RAMS AT CACC TOURNAMENT
Lakewood, NJ (5/1/09) The top seeded Dominican College Lady Chargers softball team were eliminated from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) softball tournament after losing to the sixth seeded, Philadelphia University, 7-0 this afternoon.
Lakewood, NJ (5/1/09) The top seeded Dominican College Lady Chargers softball team were eliminated from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) softball tournament after losing to the sixth seeded, Philadelphia University, 7-0 this afternoon.
The Rams pounded out ten hits in the game to the Lady Chargers four hits. Philadelphia broke a 0-0 tie with a three run home run in the third inning. The Rams added two runs in the fourth on a two run home run. A solo home run to center field in the fifth and an RBI single to left field in the sixth gave the Rams the 7-0 lead and eventual victory.
Freshman Deidre Jeppson (Sylmar, CA), CACC Player of the Year Sarah Beck (Milton, NY), Nicole Scarillo (South Amboy, NJ) and Danielle Garrison (Coatesville, PA) had the four hits for Dominican.
Freshman Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) suffered the loss (20-6) allowing three runs on five hits in three innings of work. Garrison came in for the final four innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and two strikeouts.
With the loss Dominican falls to 39-14 on the season and were eliminated from the tournament after suffering a 1-0 loss to #4 Georgian Court University yesterday.
