LADY CHARGERS SOFTBALL SPLIT ON DAY THREE AT NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER GAMES
Clermont, FL (3/5/11) The Dominican College softball team split on day three at the National Training Center Games. DC defeated Millersville University, 6-0 in game one of the non-conference doubleheader, but fell to Kutztown University, 6-1 in game two. With the split Dominican now stands at 5-5 overall.

Game One: DC got on the board with a run in the first inning as Deidre Jeppson (Sylmar, CA) led off the game with a single and moved to second on a single by Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH). A sacrifice bunt moved both runners and Jeppson later scored on a wild pitch for the 1-0 lead
Dominican added two more runs in the second as Brielle Kerscher (Staten Island, NY) hit a one out single, followed by a walk to Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ) to put two runners on base. A throwing error allowed Jeppson to reach base and both runners to score to increase the Dominican lead to 3-0.
In the third inning Julie Plante (Swansea, MA) got things started with a walk and moved to third on a double by Ashley Corrao (Staten Island, NY). Plante came in to score on a Millersville wild pitch.
DC scored two more runs in the fourth inning as Christine Lucido (Melville, NY) singled to start off the inning and moved to second on a MU throwing error which allowed Martinez to reach base. An RBI single by Jeppson allowed Lucido to score and Martinez later scored as Jeppson was picked off for the eventual 6-0 victory.
Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) got the complete game shut-out victory, allowing just three hits and recording five strikeouts.
Kerscher and Jeppson both had two hits in the contest.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning, Jeppson led off the inning with a double and later scored on the RBI single by Plante to cut the KU lead to 6-1.
Childers suffered the loss in game two, allowing six runs on 18 hits.
