SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH SAINT ANSELM
Clermont, FL (3/3/11) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double header against Saint Anselm College this afternoon in games played at the National Training Center. DC won the first game, 2-0, before falling in the nightcap, 8-0 in five innings.

Clermont, FL (3/3/11) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double header against Saint Anselm College this afternoon in games played at the National Training Center. DC won the first game, 2-1, before falling in the nightcap, 8-0 in five innings.
In game one, Dominican broke a 0-0 game with runs in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) led off the inning with a triple and scored on a single by Shelby Wassmann (Loudoun, VA). In the fifth, Julie Plante (Swansea, MA) doubled home Brielle Kerscher (Staten Island, NY), who had gotten a one-out single earlier for the 2-0 victory.
Childers got the complete game shut-out victory, allowing just four hits and striking out nine batters.
In game two, the Hawks answered back pounding out 10 hits in an 8-0 five inning, victory.
DC was limited to just two hits by Paige Berzak (Cypress, CA) and Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ).
Christine Lucido (Melville, NY) took the loss in two innings of work, allowing five runs on six hits. Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) pitched three innings, allowing three runs on four hits.
