LADY CHARGERS SPLIT TWINBILL WITH LIONS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/5/21) The Dominican College women's softball team split a non-conference double-header with the visiting Lions of Molloy College in games played today at the DC Softball Field. Molloy took the opener, 8-3, while the Lady Chargers brought home the 11-7 win in the nightcap.

With the split, Dominican is now 8-8 overall on the season.
Game One: DC took a 1-0 lead in the first on an error, but Molloy pushed in front with two runs in their half of the second inning. Dominican regained a 3-2 edge in the third as Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) led off the inning with a solo home run over the left centerfield fence. With two outs, Andrea Hester (Yorba Linda, Calif.) delivered a run-scoring double to left center field.
Molloy scored four runs in the fourth and added two more runs in the fifth to build up an 8-3 lead and eventual win.
Miscia led Dominican with three hits in the game and one RBI, while Hester also had an RBI.
Shelby Smith (Valley Center, Calif.) took the loss (2-3).
Game Two: Hester opened the scoring with an infield run-scoring single for the 1-0 advantage and added five more runs in the second for the 6-0 lead. In the second, a run came home on a fielder's choice and later a two-run double from Haylee Redmond-Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) put them ahead 4-0. An RBI groundout from Hester and a single up-the-middle off the bat of Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.).
Molloy countered with two runs in the third inning and added five more runs in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead.
Dominican got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth on the two out two-run double to right center field by Siess and added three more in the fifth on three consecutive hits. Miscia got things going with a single to right center field, followed by a double to right center from Ridge. An infield single from Hester gave the Lady Chargers the 11-7 lead and evenutal win.
Ridge and Hester both had three hits and three RBI in the win.
Siess and Miscia recorded two hits each, while Siess had two RBI.
Freshman Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.) picked up the win to improve to 5-1 on the year in four innings of work.
Dominican is slated to travel to Bloomfield College tomorrow afternoon.
