Bridgeport, Conn. (4/29/26) The Dominican University New York softball team concluded the 2026 season with a doubleheader loss to host, the University of Bridgeport, in games played today at Seaside Park.
UB won the first game, 11-0 in five innings and followed with an 11-2 loss in five innings in the nightcap.
With the losses, the Lady Chargers conclude the season with an overall record of 3-33 and a CACC mark of 2-16.
Game One: The Purple Knights used a big bottom of the second inning to claim an 11-0 win in five innings. UB scored 10 runs on eight hits and one error to jump out to an early lead and added a run in the fourth en route to the win.
Third baseman Nicole Mata had two hits in the loss.
Starter Victoria Iorio suffered the loss.
Game Two: Bridgeport led 11-0 after three innings of play, but the Lady Chargers got on the board in the top of the fourth as sophomore Kindel Johnson scored on an error and Emily Angulo followed with an RBI ground out for the eventual 11-2 final score.
Mata and Gianna Longo had hits in the game.
Starter Jenna Jump had the loss.
