WOMEN'S TRACK COMPETE AT BLUE-WHITE INVITATIONAL
Monmouth, NJ (2/5/11) The Dominican College women's track team opened up the 2011 season by competing in the first ever Blue-White Invitational hosted by Monmouth University this afternoon at the Multipurpose Activities Center. The meet featured five teams and over 480 entries, the biggest indoor meet hosted by Monmouth University.

Sophomore Tameekia Imani Cooper (New Rochelle, NY) took 16th place in the 400m dash with a time of 1:11.03.
Sophomore Julia Miller (Mount Vernon, NY) finished in fifth place, while freshman Amanda Castro (New Rochelle, NY) took seventh place in the 500m dash with times of 1:22.85 and 1:36.14, respectively.
Keyla Cruz (Bronx, NY) finished 11th in the 800m dash after running a time of 2:36.08, while junior Sarah Dugandzic (Suffern, NY) took 14th place with a time of 2:53.86.
In the 200m dash, Sharrika Brent (Brooklyn, NY) ran a time of 30:55 to finish in 26th place and Desiree Roberts took 28th place with a time of 30:86. Michelle Brito (Washington Heights, NY) took 30th place with a time of 33.83.
The Lady Chargers finished fourth in the Distance Medley event as Jessica Avila (Mount Vernon, NY), Miller, Cruz and Dugandzic ran a combined time of 14:17.84.
The team will compete next at the Lafayette Rider Winter Games on Friday, February 11th.
