WOMEN'S TRACK COMPETE AT NEW YORK RELAYS

New York, NY (4/19/10) The Dominican College women's track team competed at the 2010 New York Relays this past Sunday which was held at Ichan Stadium.

New York, NY (4/19/10)  The Dominican College women's track team competed at the 2010 New York Relays this past Sunday which was held at Ichan Stadium.

The Lady Chargers competed in six events at the relays.

Freshman co-captain, Tameekia Cooper (New Rochelle, NY) competed in two events at the Relays where she finished eighth in the 100 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 13.90 which qualified her to compete in the finals.  She also finished second in the women's long jump event with a final jump of 4.56m to finish with eight points, two points behind the winner.

Fellow freshman, Julia Miller (Mount Vernon, NY), also took part in two events where she placed fourth in both of them.  She ran the 400 meter dash in a time of 59.91 and ran the 800 meter dash in a tine of 2:29.48.

Co-captain Samantha Klunk (York, PA) ran the 5000 meter dash where she took seventh place with a time of 20:30.23 and teammate Sarah Dugandzic (Suffern, NY) placed seventh in the 1500 meter dash with a time of 5:31.74.
