Springfield, MA (12/30/08) Sophomore guard Laechia Conley (Urbandale, IA) scored a game-high 16 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and two steals to lead the American International College women's basketball team to a 60-44 win over Dominican College (N.Y.) Tuesday afternoon at Butova Gymnasium. The Yellow Jackets improved to 9-5 for the season, while the Chargers fell to 5-5.

Laechia Conley (Urbandale, IA) scored a game-high
16 points to go with seven rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots
and two steals to lead the American International College women's
basketball team to a 60-44 win over Dominican College (N.Y.)
Tuesday afternoon at Butova Gymnasium. The Yellow Jackets improved
to 9-5 for the season, while the Chargers fell to 5-5.
AIC opened the game with a 14-4 run over the first 5:38 of the
contest and never looked back. The Yellow Jackets led 24-15
at the half and used a13-2 run early in the second half to open up
a 39-22 lead. AIC led by as many as 22, 56-34, with 5:04 to go in
the game before the Chargers went on a 9-0 run to pull within 13,
56-43, with 1:43 remaining in the contest.
Senior forward Stacy Boisvert (Agawam, MA) scored
eight points and grabbed nine boards for the Yellow Jackets and
senior guard Jen Moussette (Southampton, MA) added
eight points, a career-high five rebounds, and two steals off the
bench. Freshman guard Michelle DeRoma (Boston, MA)
also scored eight points and grabbed a career-best four
rebounds.
Senior guard Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) scored
12 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead
Dominican. Junior forward Adele Laskowski (Wayne,
NJ) added 11 points, four boards, two assists and two
steals.
Dominican is back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Stonehill College.
