Gamecocks Top February NTCA Coaches Poll
February 10, 2026 — Mother Nature simplified the voting criteria in the National Tenpin Coaches
Association (NTCA) February poll as weather cancelled one of the month’s two major
tournaments.
With the Prairie View Invitational iced out, the Northeast Classic became the sport’s main
measuring criteria for the month.
Jacksonville State’s win there made keeping the Gamecocks in the top spot an obvious choice.
JSU, 43-8 on the season, cruised to its third tournament title in four events behind the strong
performances of Gianna Brandolino and Kaitlyn Stull. The Gamecocks are top-ranked in the
NTCA Power Index and Brandolino is the top scorer in the NCAA.
Vanderbilt clearly held on to the second spot, getting three of the 44 first-place votes. The
Commodores, 50-15, were second at the Northeast Classic with Katelyn Abigania and Dannielle
Henderson making the first-team all-tournament.
Arkansas State, 46-19, maintained its grip on third place as voters closely followed the Power
Index for their first seven spots. Wichita State slid up to fourth from sixth after a third place at
the Northeast and a runner-up at the Maryville Saints Invite.
Louisiana Tech hung on to fifth with Nebraska in sixth, down two spots from December.
Maryville and Youngstown State were seventh and eighth while Wright State, 61-26 and No.8
in the Power Index, climbed into ninth place and Sacred Heart was tenth on the basis of its big
win at the Saints Invite.
The second 10 is headed by Niagara, which fell from No. 8, followed by North Carolina A&T,
McKendree, Sam Houston State, and Newman. Mount St. Mary’s tumbled from ninth to 16th,
with Tulane, Monmouth, Valparaiso and Saint Vincent completing the Top 20.
Alabama-Birmingham, Duquesne, Central Missouri, Bryant and Kutztown round out the Top 25.
