LADY CHARGERS TAKE THIRD AT WILDCAT DII/DIII INVITATIONAL
Blackwood, N.J. (2/15/26) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team took third place at the 2026 Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational, hosted by Wilmington University at Bowlero Turnersville this past weekend.
The Lady Chargers went 9-3 overall on the weekend to finish in third place and bring their overall record to 56-29.
Day One: Dominican sported a 4-1 record on day one of the tournament which consisted of five traditional matches. The team defeated Felician University (938-904), Emmanuel University (1014-899), Daemen University (857-835) and Kutztown University (998-937). DUNY fell to Newman University (961-953) and finished with a total pinfal count of 4,760.
Redshirt sophomore Angelina Tati was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers as she took fifth place overall with scores of 202, 172, 220, 168 and 245 for a total pinfall of 1,007 (201.40 average). Teammate Stephanie O'Malley finished in seventh place with a total pinfall of 1,005 (201.00 average) after bowling games of 174, 214, 174, 203 and 240.
Kyra Walter finished in 11th place and had a high game of 221, while freshman Jenna Jump took 15th place with a high game of 225. Caroline Dillon rolled a high game of 198 to take 26th place.
Day Two: Dominican slipped two spots following day two where they posted a 3-1 record in four baker matches. The Lady Chargers opened the day with a loss to Newman University (1081-887), before defeating Adelphi University (1053-902), Holy Family University (826-719) and Wilmington University (1022-790). The match against the Panthers saw the team post their high score of the day with 1,053. The team combined for a 4,603 total pinfall count.
Day Three: The Lady Chargers opened the Baker Bracket portion of the tournament with a 4-0 loss to #25 Kutztown University in the best of seven series.
Dominican then faced off against the Golden Falcons of Felician University where they edged out a 4-3 win. In the match the team had a high game score of 225.
The final match of the day saw Dominican square off against Emmanuel University where they came away with the 4-1 win and a high game score of 216 to finish in third place overall among the nine competing teams.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the Dr. Cincotta Memorial Tournament next weekend.
