WOMEN'S BOWLING WINS OPENING ROUND OF NCAA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
Rochester, N.Y. (4/2/26) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team defeated Alabama A&M, 2-0, this morning in the opening round of the NCAA Regional Tournament being held at ABC Gates Bowl.
With the win, the Lady Chargers secure their spot in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) history as the first women's bowling team to win an NCAA Regional Tournament Match.
Dominican won the traditional match by the score of 969-895. Redshirt-sophomore Angelina Tati had the high game of 226. Briana Sinnott followed with a 196, then Stephanie O'Malley with 195, Kyra Walter with a 191 and Jenna Jump with a 161.
In the baker match, the Lady Chargers bested the Bulldogs, 952-935 total pinfall. In the five-game baker format, DUNY had a high game of 241.
With the win, Dominican improves to 71-32 on the season and advance to the double elimination part of the tournament.
The Lady Chargers will take on #2 Vanderbilt University tomorrow morning at 9am.
