Pleasantville, N.Y. (2/27/16) Senior midfielder Christina Brennan* (Washington Township, N.J.) netted her 100th career goal with 8:43 remaining in the first half to become the fifth Lady Charger in program history to score 100 goals as Dominican fell to the Setters of Pace University, 17-6, today in a game played at Pace Stadium.
Brennan netted the first goal of the game on a free position shot just a minute and a half into the game, but the Setters countered with six straight goals to go in front, 6-1 with 15:42 left in the half.
Junior Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) netted her first goal of the season off the pass from Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Brennan closed out the scoring for Dominican as the Setters took a 10-3 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
Pace opened the second half with a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 15-3 with a little over 22 minutes to go in the game. DC broke the run with two goals from Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) and June (assisted by Brennan).
Brennan completed the hat trick with her third game goal with 4:50 left and Pace went on to the 17-6 win.
Brennan finished the game with three goals and one assists, while June scored two goals.
Goalie Brittany Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made 12 saves in the loss.
Dominican returns to non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon as they host St. Thomas Aquinas College at the Torne Valley Sports Complex. Game time is 4pm.
