WOMEN'S LACROSSE ENDS SEASON WITH A LOSS TO GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY

Lakewood, N.J. (4/27/16)  The Dominican College women's lacrosse team fell in their final game of the 2016 season to host, Georgian Court University, 17-4 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.

With the loss, Dominican ends their season with an overall record of 3-12 and a 3-6 mark in the CACC.

Senior midfielder Christina Brennan* (Washington Township, N.J.) gave DC a 2-1 lead after scoring back-to-back goals off passes from Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) with 15:51 to play in the first half.  GCU countered with six straight goals to regain a 7-2 lead.  June broke the run with her first game goal off the assist from Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) with 9:10 to play before the break.  A 4-0 Lion run closed out the first half and increased their lead to 11-3.

Brennan opened the second half with a goal to complete the hat trick following the pass from June with a little over 25 minutes remaining in the game to make the score 11-4, but the Lions ended the game on a 6-0 run for the final 17-4 score.

Brennan led the Lady Chargers with three game goals.

June finished with one goal and two assists.

Senior goalie Brittany Kiernan* (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made four saves in the loss.
