WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY GOLDEN RAMS DEFEAT DOMINICAN COLLEGE LADY CHARGERS IN HOME OPENER

Orangeburg, NY (8/30/08)The visiting Golden Rams of West Chester University defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 2-0 this afternoon in a non-conference game held at the DC Soccer Field. With the win WCU improves to 1-0 on the season, while DC falls to 0-1.

Orangeburg, NY (8/30/08) The visiting Golden Rams of West Chester University defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 2-0 this afternoon in a non-conference game held at the DC Soccer Field.  With the win WCU improves to 1-0 on the season, while DC falls to 0-1.

The game was scoreless until the 22nd minute of action when sophomore midfielder Jenna Arnold (Winslow, NJ) put back a deflected shot from Brittany Yetter (Douglassville, PA) to put the Golden Rams on the board.

Early in the second half, WCU added to lead as sophomore forward Sarah Oswald (Macungie, PA) dribbled past the DC defense to net a goal at 47:45 for the eventual 2-0 victory.

The Golden Rams out shot the Lady Chargers 17-4.  Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) had six saves in the loss, while senior Hilary Smart (Enola, PA) had one save for the game.

Dominican returns to action on Tuesday when they host Pace University in a non-conference game.  Game time is 3pm at the DC Soccer Field.
