The Bears got on the scoreboard at 10:32 as Jenna D'Alessandro netted her first goal of the season, taking a shot from the top of the penalty box for the 1-0 NYIT lead.
The Lady Chargers tied the game at 1-1 as senior forward Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) scored a breakaway goal at 73:36.
In double overtime, Jensen put a shot over the Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) to net her first goal of the season and give the Bears a 2-1 win.
NYIT outshot the DC 25-12 in the game and had an edge in corner kicks, 4-2.
Sturchio had nine saves in the net for Dominican, while NYIT keeper Jenna Ament had eight saves.
With the win NYIT improves to 3-2 on the season, while the Lady Chargers fall to 2-4 overall.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday as they host Goldey-Beacom College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action slated to begin at 12:00 pm at North Rockland High School.
