LADY CHARGERS SOCCER DEFEAT FELICIAN COLLEGE GOLDEN FALCONS
Orangeburg, NY (10/29/08) The Dominican College women's soccer team clinched a berth in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament after defeating Felician College, 3-2 this afternoon on Senior Day at the DC Soccer Field.

Before the game the team honored seniors Angela Correia, Erin Martin, Shannon Harding and Katrina VanAlstyne.
Felician took a 1-0 lead at 9:41 when Stephanie Jimenez (Fair Lawn, NJ) netted a goal off the dish by sophomore forward D.J. Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY).
Dominican tied it at 13:23 when sophomore midfielder Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) had a diving header goal off the pass by freshman Julia Camp (Middletown, NY).
The Golden Falcons regained a 2-1 advantage at 20:46 when Jacobowitz took a shot from the 12 yard line that went into the right side of the net.
The Lady Chargers once again tied the game at 2-2 when freshman Christina Evans (Mahopac, NY) netted the unassisted goal at 21:00.
The game winning goal came off the foot of fellow freshman Christina Occhipinti (Islip, NY) as she was able to put it past the Felician keeper off the assist by Porter.
Dominican held a 20-13 advantage in shots for the game.
Lady Charger keeper Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY) had six saves in the win, while Golden Falcon keeper Amanda Musarra (South Amboy, NJ) had seven saves in the loss.
With the win the Lady Chargers improve to 6-10-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the CACC, while Felician falls to 10-9 overall and 6-5 in the CACC.
Dominican awaits word on where they will be seeded for the upcoming CACC Tournament which will begin next Monday at the higher seed.
