WOMEN'S SOCCER TURNS BACK CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (9/15/09) The Dominican College women's soccer team turned back the visiting Clippers of Concordia College, 3-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer action at the DC Soccer Field.

Both teams played a scoreless first half where the Clippers outshot the Chargers, 6-4.
The scoring action came in the second half as freshman Rachel Romanowski (Lacey Township, NJ) netted her first collegiate goal off of the double assist from sophomore foward Julia Camp (Middletown, NY) and freshman Nicolle Sanchez (Lyndhurst, NJ) to give DC a 1-0 lead at 57:52.
Sanchez picked up her third goal of the season at 62:41 as junior midfielder Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) passed the ball to Camp who in turn passed it to Sanchez for the double-assisted goal and 2-0 lady Charger lead.
Porter tallied her team leading fifth goal of the season in the 78th minute of play as she rocketed a shot from the 20 yard line passed a diving Clipper keeper into the lower right corner of the net to lift Dominican to the 3-0 victory.
The Clippers outshot the Lady Chargers 13-10 for the game, while both teams had two corner kicks.
Lady Charger goalie Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) made seven saves in the victory.
Concordia goalie Jenifer Stefankiewicz (Omaha, NE) had two saves in the loss.
With the win Dominican improves to 2-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the CACC, while Concordia falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College in CACC women's soccer action. Game time is set for 1pm.
