Rindge, N.H. (9/4/14) The Dominican College women's soccer team lost their 2014 season opener to host, Franklin Pierce University, 5-0 this evening in a game played at Sodexho Field. With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 0-1 on the season.
In the second game of the day in the FPU Tournament, the Ravens held a 1-0 lead at the intermission and tacked on four more goals in the second stanza en route to the 5-0 win.
Sophomore goalie Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) made nine saves in the loss.
Forward Melissa Messina (Hillsdale, N.J.) recorded both of the Lady Charger shots.
DC will take on Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon at Sodexho Field. The Penmen rallied for a 3-2 victory over Caldwell College this afternoon.
