LADY CHARGERS FALL TO BENTLEY UNIVERSITY AT MERRIMACK COLLEGE KICKOFF CLASSIC

The women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Bentley University in their opening game of the 2018 season.

North Andover, Mass. (8/30/18) The Dominican College women's soccer team opened up the 2018 season with a 3-1 loss to the Falcons of Bentley University in the opening game of the Merrimack College Kickoff Classic, hosted by Merrimack College on Martone-Mejail Field.

Sophomore keeper Jasmine Pesante (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) made a career high 17 saves in the loss.

Bentley opened up the scoring with a goal at the 7:46 mark, but senior Taylor Calero (New City, N.Y.) tied the game with her first season goal at 11:04 in the first half.

The Falcons netted the go-ahead score in the 28th minute and added a goal in the 70th minute for the 3-1 lead and evenutal win.

Freshman Megan Geary (Washingtonville, N.Y.) had two shots on goal, while Danielle Gillespie (New City, N.Y.) had the other Dominican shot.

With the loss, the Lady Chargers are now 0-1 on the season.

The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on the host, Merrimack College, in a 2pm showdown on Martone-Mejail Field.
