WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO JEFFERSON IN CONFERENCE OPENER

Philadelphia, P.A. (9/8/18) The Lady Chargers soccer team fell to the Rams of Jefferson University on Saturday by a score of 5-1.

The game marked the first CACC conference game for Dominican for the season. With the loss, the Lady Chargers dropped to 0-4-0 (0-1-0 CACC). For the Rams, the win improved their record to 1-2-0 (1-1-0 CACC) in their second conference game of the season.

Jasmine Pisante (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) started in net for the Lady Chargers and recorded six saves. Erin Tinney started in net for the Rams and earned the win to improve her record to 1-2-0 on the season.

The Rams got on the board first at the 21:34 mark when Erin Sullivan scored unassisted for the 1-0 lead. Taylor Calero (New City, N.Y.) tied the game at 1-1 off the feed from Carly Rose (Bayville, N.J.). At the 34:45 mark, Sullivan scored her second goal of the first half which was assisted by Alexa Karakitsios to give the Rams a 2-1 lead.

The Rams started the second half off strong by extending their lead to 3-1 at the 47:49 mark when Ava Albergo scored off of a rebound. Erin Sullivan completed the hat-trick at 50:10 to give the Rams a 4-1 lead which was assisted by Dena Noiseux. Emily Discavage extended the Jefferson lead to 5-1 at 67:27 off the feed from Ava Albergo.

Dominican finished the game with 7 shots on goal while Jefferson recorded 19 shots on goal.

The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, September 12th for their home opener when they host the Warriors of Nyack College at 3:30 PM.
