Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/7/25) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with the Knights of Queens College this afternoon in their home opener.
The Lady Chargers now hold an overall record of 0-1-1 while the Knights now also stand at 0-1-1.
Lady Charger goalkeeper Stella Paton made seven saves in goal.
The game was scoreless through the first half. Kendall McGregor broke the scoreless tie after taking a leading pass from Isabella Fiorillo from DU's defensive end.
The Knights answered less than one minute later when Mia Goicochea scored off the cross bar and in. Carly Koprowski and Adriana Melgar picked up the double assist.
Anna Impellizeri broke the 1-1 tie and gave QC their first lead of the game in the 71st minute after taking a pass from Alyssa Illano.
At the 72:11 mark, the Lady Chargers were awarded a free kick just beyond midfield as Emily Rath perfectly placed the ball inside the box where Nicholette Brunner connected for a header goal that tied the game back up.
The score would remain tied the rest of the way.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College on O'Brien Field at 3:30 PM.
