Philadelphia, Pa. (10/18/25) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team shutout the Tigers of Holy Family University this afternoon on Tiger Field.
Junior forward Jessie Maraia scored the only goal of the game early on in the second half as the Lady Chargers secured the 1-0 win.
Dominican improves to 4-6-3 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play while the Tigers fall to 1-8-3 overall and 1-2-3 in the CACC.
Goalkeeper Stella Paton got the start for the Lady Chargers and made five saves in the shutout victory and improved to 2-3-1.
Jaina Preuhs made four saves in goal for the Tigers but suffered the loss.
The game was scoreless at halftime and DU held the advantage in shots 5-2 in the first 45:00 of play.
Maraia broke the scoreless tie in the 47th minute with her third goal of the season and the score would remain the rest of the game.
Both teams finished with 11 shots and saves by each goalkeeper were made in the second half. Holy Family held the edge in corner kicks 4-1.
The Lady Chargers return home this Tuesday for a non-conference contest against St. Michael's College on O'Brien Field at 12:00 PM.
