LADY CHARGERS HAVE 13 TOP FIVE FINISHES AT BATTLE OF THE MADISON #2
Madison, N.J. (4/18/26) The Dominican University New York women's track and field team had a great showing at the Battle of the Madison #2 Meet, hosted by FDU-Florhm today.
The Lady Chargers had 13 top five finishes overall, with the team winning five events.
Dominican posted two season bests and three personal bests during the meet.
TOP FIVE FINISHES
- Kiana Thomas won the 400m hurdles event with a time of 1:13.95.
- The 800m run saw Sarai Cruz win the event with a personal best time of 2:32.85.
- Cruz also won the 1500m run with a personal best time of 5:20.75.
- Isabella Mack won the long jump with a CACC qualifying jump of 5.21m (17' 1.25"). Chiara Rosamilia took third place with a jump of 4.60m (15' 1.25").
- The 4x400m relay team of Anjalice Arias, Veronica Valentik, Cruz and Thomas took the top spot with a season best time of 4:24.22.
- The 4x100m relay team of Jayda Jones, Mack, Gabrielle Brooks and Tiara Cargill took second place with a time of 51.19.
- Rosamilia took third place in the triple jump with a jump of 10.04m (32' 11.25").
- The shot put saw Valentik finish fourth with a CACC qualifying throw of 10.72m (35' 2").
- Tori Benson finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 29.75m (97' 7").
- In the 5000m run, Rachel Reagan took fourth place with a time of 27:48.31.
- Valentik also took fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03.78.
- The 100m dash finals saw Mack finish fourth with a CACC qualifying time of 12.87 and Cargill take fifth with a CACC qualifying time of 12.91.
OTHER FINISHES
- The javelin event saw Valentik take sixth place with a CACC qualifying and personal throw of 28.79m (94' 5").
- The 400m dash also saw Arias finish sixth with a personal best time of 1:06.88.
- Jones took sixth in the 100m dash finals with a time of 13.26 and during the prelims of the event she had a CACC qualifying time of 13.03. Brooks had a finals time of 14.63 to finish eighth and had qualified for the finals with a prelim time of 13.42.
- Julissa Velazquez took seventh place in the shot put with a throw of 10.00m (32' 9.75"), while Benson finished eighth with a throw of 9.83m (32' 3").
- Velazquez also had a seventh place finish in the discus with a throw of 28.15m (92' 4").
- In the 200m dash, Cargill took eighth place with a time of 27.92. Jones finished 10th with a time of 27.95, while Arias took 12th place (28.75).
