WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD WINS TWO EVENTS AND HAS TWO OTHER FIVE FINISHES AT VASSAR APRIL TWILIGHT
Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (4/25/26) The Dominican University New York women's track and field team had four tope five finishes today at the Vassar April Twilight Meet, hosted by Vassar College.
The team picked up wins in the shot put and the 4x400m relay, while taking second place in the 400m hurdles and fifth place in the 200m dash.
TOP FIVE FINISHES
- Veronica Valentik won the shot put event with a throw of 10.69m (35-01.00).
- The 4x400m relay team of Valentik, Kiana Thomas, Anjalice Arias and Isabella Mack won the event with a time of 4:32.38.
- The 400m hurdles saw Thomas take second place with a time of 1:15.70.
- In the 200m dash, Tiara Cargill took fifth place with a time of 28.34.
FINISHES
- The 400m dash saw Valentik take sixth place with a time of 1:02.70. Anjalice Arias finished in 10th place with a season best time of 1:06.84.
- Tori Benson took seventh place in the discus with a throw of 29.53m (96-10). Julissa Velazquez followed in 12th place with a throw of 27.24m (89-04).
- Chiara Rosamilia competed in the triple jump and finished in seventh place with a jump of 9.85m (32-03.75)
- In the shot put, Velazquez finished in eighth place with a throw of 10.08m (33-01.00), while Benson took 14th place with a throw of 9.03m (29-07.50).
- Valentik also competed in the javelin and took 12th place with a throw of 22.12m (72-07).
- Sarai Cruz ran in the 1500m run and took 14th place with a persoal best time of 5:16.66.
- Freshman Rosamilia took 14th place in the long jump with a jump of 4.54m (14-10.75).
- Isabella Mack finished in 15th place in the 100m dash with a time of 13.59. Cargill took 18th place (13.86), followed by Gabrielle Brooks in 20th place (14.25) and Rachel Reagan in 29th place (17.36).
- The 800m run saw Cruz take 20th place with a time of 2:39.98.
UP NEXT
The Lady Chargers will compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Meet this coming Friday and Saturday.
