WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS NYACK COLLEGE

Nyack, NY (10/6/09) The visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Nyack College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24) this evening at Bowman Gymnasium.

Nyack, NY (10/6/09)  The visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Nyack College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24) this evening at Bowman Gymnasium.

The Lady Chargers had three players in double figures led by freshman Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) with 14 kills.  Fellow freshman outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) added 12 kills, while junior Kerianne Dudley (Nanuet, NY) had 10 kills in the win.  Three players also were in double figures in defensive digs as Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a match leading 16 digs, Michelle Klimas (Thornwood, NY) had 15 digs and junior Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) contributed 10 digs in the win.  Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had a match leading 45 assists.

Heard had a match leading .500 attack percentage, while the team had a .217 attack percentage.

With the victory Dominican improves to 12-8 overall and 6-3 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Bloomfield College for a 7:30 pm CACC match.
