WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROP TWO ON FINAL DAY OF 2010 SAINT LEO LION CLASSIC

Saint Leo, FL (9/4/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost their last two matches of the 2010 Saint Leo Lion Classic this afternoon. DC fell to Upper Iowa University, 3-1 (14-25, 27-25, 16-25, 12-25) and lost to host Saint Leo University, 3-0 (14-25, 19-25, 13-25).

Saint Leo, FL (9/4/10)  The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost their last two matches of the 2010 Saint Leo Lion Classic this afternoon.  DC fell to Upper Iowa University, 3-1 (14-25, 27-25, 16-25, 12-25) and lost to host Saint Leo University, 3-0 (14-25, 19-25, 13-25).

In the finale against Saint Leo, the Lions held a 9-6 lead and never looked back en route to a 25-15 set one victory.

Dominican took an early 4-2 lead in the second set and later saw the set tied 18-18 when Saint Leo went on a 7-1 run, including four straight points to secure a 25-19 set win and 2-0 match lead.

The Lions opened up with a 10-5 lead in the third set and never looked back en route to the 25-13 win and 3-0 match victory.

Sophomore Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with five kills, while Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) and Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) each had four kills a piece, with Ranger adding 13 assists in the loss.

Following the losses Dominican falls to 0-4 on the season.
