LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL CHARGE PAST CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (10/2/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team charged past the visiting Griffins of Chestnut Hill College, 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-11) this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. With the win Dominican improves to 8-12 overall and 5-2 in the CACC, while Chestnut Hill falls to 3-14 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Dominican opened up set one with a 10-3 lead and never looked back en route to the 25-10 win. Libero Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a service run of seven straight points, while N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, NY) had a 5-0 service run later in the set.
The Griffins took a 3-0 lead in set two, but DC answered back with a 10-3 run to take a 10-6 lead and extended it to 18-10 as senior Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) had five service points during the stretch for the 25-13 set win and 2-0 match lead.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in the third set as they jumped out to an 11-3 lead with setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) tallying four straight service aces in a 9-0 service run as they went on to the 25-11 set win and 3-0 match victory.
Sophomore Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) led all attackers with nine kills on the day for a .667 attack percentage. Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) added seven kills, while Giordano finished with five kills and five aces.
Ranger led the way with 26 assists on the day and added four aces, while Fuller led the team with six aces and eight defensive digs.
DC returns to action on Tuesday night when they host Nyack
College in a CACC North Division clash on Coach Baxter Court at
7pm.
