DOMINICAN VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS PAST NYACK COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (10/5/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting Warriors from Nyack College this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held at the Hennessey Center, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14). With the victory, Dominican improves to 9-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play, while Nyack falls to 3-9 overall and 3-7 in the CACC.

Orangeburg, NY (10/5/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting Warriors from Nyack College this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held at the Hennessey Center, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14). With the victory, Dominican improves to 9-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play, while Nyack falls to 3-9 overall and 3-7 in the CACC.
Tied 7-7 in set one, Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) had a service run of four points to push the Lady Chargers ahead 11-7. After pulling ahead 17-9, Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a 5-0 service run that extended the lead to 21-9 en route to the 25-11 win.
In set two, Dominican held a two point advantage (6-4) before going on a 12-9 run to make the score 18-13. With the 22-16 advantage, the Lady Chargers closed out the set with the 25-18 win. Danielle Johnston (Cornwall, NY) had three service points in the win.
With Dominican leading 13-11 in set three, Fuller had four consecutive service points that extended their lead to 17-12 en route to the 25-14 victory. Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had four service points in the set.
Freshman Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) and sophomore Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) each had eight kills in the victory, while Ranger had six kills and a match-leading 21 assists. Fuller had four service aces in the win.
DC is back in action on Thursday when they host Bloomfield College in a CACC match on Coach Baxter Court at 7:00 pm.
