WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TURNS BACK GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, NY (10/30/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team turned back the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-9) this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win Dominican improves to 15-15 overall and 12-5 in conference play.

With the win Dominican improves to 15-15 overall and 12-5 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers trailed 7-1 in set one when they went on an 9-2 tear to take a 10-9 advantage. Leading 19-17, DC closed out the set with a 6-1 spurt for the 25-18 victory.
Leading 17-16 in the second set, libero Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) went on a 5-0 service run to build up a 23-16 lead en route to the 25-18 win and 2-0 match lead.
Dominican led 20-17 in the third set, when the Lions went on a 5-0 run to take a 22-20 lead and went on to outscore DC 3-1 for the 25-21 third set win.
DC started out the fourth scoring the first seven points and never looked back as they went on to the 25-9 win and 3-1 match victory. Sophomore N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, NY) had six straight service points, while senior Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) had a five unanswered service points.
Sophomore Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with 11 kills, while freshman Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) tallied eight kills and a team leading .350 attack percentage. Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) recorded 33 assists and Fuller finished with a team leading nine defensive digs.
