VOLLEYBALL SPLITS ON DAY ONE OF LHU CLASSIC

Lock Haven, Pa. (9/8/12) The Dominican College volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches on night one of the Lock Haven University Classic. Dominican fell to Ashland University, 3-1 and defeated Queens College, 3-1 in the second match. Following the day, the Lady Chargers are now 3-4 overall on the season.

Lock Haven, Pa. (9/8/12)  The Dominican College volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches on night one of the Lock Haven University Classic.  Dominican fell to Ashland University, 3-1 and defeated Queens College, 3-1 in the second match.  Following the day, the Lady Chargers are now 3-4 overall on the season.

Match One: Dominican took the first set 25-23, but Asland rallied to win the next three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-15.

Senior outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) led one of two Lady Chargers in double figures in kills with 12.  Junior Randi Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) added 10 kills.

Senior setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a team leading 23 assists, while adding 15 digs.

Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a team leading 26 defensive digs.

Match Two:  DC rallied in their second match as they defeated Queens College in four sets by scores of 25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 25-23.

Garrett and Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) led the team with nine kills a-piece.

Ranger finished with the double-double of 44 assists and 11 digs.

Fuller tallied a match leading 25 digs.

Freshman Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) and Fiorvanti each had eight kills in the victory.
