WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON WITH VICTORY OVER HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Philadelphia, Pa. (11/3/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a road victory over Holy Family University, 3-0, this afternoon in a match played at Campus Center Gym. With the victory, the Lady Chargers finish the regular season with an overall record of 23-7 and a perfect Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 19-0, setting a school program for conference wins.

(11/3/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a road victory over Holy Family University, 3-0, this afternoon in a match played at Campus Center Gym.  With the victory, the Lady Chargers finish the regular season with an overall record of 23-7 and a perfect Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 19-0, setting a school program for conference wins.

Dominican held a 9-3 lead in the first set when the Tigers came back to pull within a point, 9-8.  Later tied at 11-all, the Lady Chargers went on a 5-1 run to gain a 16-12 advantage and would close out the set with a 25-22 win on a kill from freshman Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.)

DC quickly jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the second set and held a 17-11 advantage when Holy Family came back with a 10-2 tear to tie the set at 20-20.  With the set tied at 26-26, a Tiger service error and a kill from senior Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) gave the Lady Chargers the 28-26 win and 2-0 match lead.

Set three was a close battle as through the first 34 points of the set, the biggest lead was four points (6-2).  Tied at 17-17, Dominican charged ahead outscoring the Tigers 5-1 over the next six points to go up, 22-18.  Three consecutive kills from Fiorvanti, N'Jameh Philip (Monore, N.Y.) and Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) led the team to match point (24-18) and Fiorvanti completed a 4-0 service run with an ace to give DC the 25-18 win and 3-0 match victory.

Dexter led all attackers with 12 kills and added 10 digs on the afternoon.

Kristen Loney* (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and Heard each finished with six kills, while Fiorvanti added five kills and 11 defensive digs.

Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had 31 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a matcj leading 17 digs.
